This post is about rational behavior and strategic thinking. Emotions and virtues have no place here.

Game theory is the branch of social science that studies strategic decision making, and finding the best suitable option/strategy for you. It is to maximize your gains and minimizing your losses.

And to make rational decisions, you need a certain detachment from your emotions. The strategies discussed here are self-serving and often not fair by any means. It is the decision of the wielder whether they want to play fair or maximize their gains.

Play Fair is a weak man’s maneuver to limit the powers of the superior.

Either play to win or play fair... You can’t do both.

This theory is a mathematical model that helps you act accordingly and with the other player’s strategies. Think of the game of chess, you have to calculate, strategize your moves, and also be anticipating other person’s moves.
