How To Manipulate Masses With Propaganda

Understand how politics and propaganda works from within.

Politics stems from the Greek word: Πολιτικά, politiká, meaning affair of the cities, euphemistically politics are activities involved making decisions of the group. But in actuality, politics is the art of deception, coercion, and Machiavellianism at scale.

It’s a game of power - the influence and support of people make this power. It goes without saying that any and every (moral or immoral) act is used to gain this power. 

One of the greatest maneuvers being political conditioning and group conflict - Two ideologies are pitted against each other, making the individuals who follow the given ideologies hate each other, and side with the politician that affirms their ideology.

In an extreme scenario, the mind is robbed of rational thought by inducing confusion, doubt in oneself, and weakening the will of the subject - The subject is constantly bombarded with repeated information (sometimes depressing) impairing his ability to detach and think rationally.

Then the subject is presented with a solution to his problem, in return for his support. Studies have shown that a confused mind is eager to drop old beliefs and adopt new ones if they serve to rid it of the confusion.

Note that this is an extreme version of strategies used to persuade the mind, often charm and persuasion are effective, but not to an extent of this strategy. 

I do recognize there are positives of any game, but this article is more focused on making you recognize the mechanisms & tools that are used in deceptions and large-scale manipulations. 

MEDIA MANIPULATION

Media is supposed to keep a watch over powerful people, but what if powerful people own it…

If you ever believed the media, Congrats! You were conned at least once. Something that developed as a means of large-scale communication, information & intel transmission, also serves a great deal in the propagation of propaganda - that is media plays a great role in changing the beliefs of the individual, and is the greatest weapon in the arsenal of the propagandist.
